After a few months of experiencing this College’s staff and teachers I found it easy to understand why south-west Ireland (and the Irish generally) have an atrociously bad name in regards stupidity and coarseness.
To say the employees in this college were people who didn’t enjoy throwing their weight around would be akin to saying Myra Hindley was a valuable member of society. One inimitable female, Elaine Looney, who really stood out (both in size and in displaying vulgarity) gave me great insight into provincial Ireland and the south-west in particular.

This person was vulgar beyond belief – think convicted murderer Catherine Nevin overdosed with amphetamines – and, quite clearly, suffered from deep-seated mental health issues.
Coarseness, vulgarity and unintelligence was practically written all over her; and it was depressing to see how her provincial towns-folk not only tolerated, but also condoned her ape-like behaviour. In normal societies, the UK, Poland or any civilised country, this type of person wouldn’t even make it past the interview stage when applying for a teaching position.
Cork College of Commerce, though, is in south-west Ireland and I suspect that the Irish exam system, which is predicated on grade inflation, and shoddy invigilators played a big part in this moron becoming a teacher – half-witted exam overseers mean even the overly dumb get stupendous results.

The first concerned an English woman who had settled in this part of Ireland during the 1980s. She had hardly got her bearings when she was set upon by a neighbour who brutally beat and then raped her.
When she reported this vile crime to the Garda Síochána she was shunned and fobbed off. They basically and arrogantly let her know that they weren't going to investigate or charge her rapist.
Eventually by contacting the Dublin authorities and the British Embassy she succeeded in getting her attacker brought to trial. But when the natives saw that the thug was going to be tried for rape they protested vociferously and violently in attempt to get the charges dropped.
When they failed to force the Irish authorities to drop all charges (the British Embassy played a part in this) they turned on the rape victim like demented hyenas. The troglodyte inbred bastards, obviously thinking nothing of what this English lady had suffered, ostracised, abused and belittled her. They'd turn up at her home in the middle of the night, kick doors, break windows and rip up her garden. She was harassed and spat upon whenever she attempted to shop or conduct any business in the local town. And with threats of violence and further rape ringing in her ears she was left with no choice but to flee south-west Ireland.
And 25 odd years later another rape victim in south-west Ireland suffered an almost similar fate. The shameless unevolved natives again turned upon the victim of a serious sexual assault (a young mother of one) and subjected her to harassment, vilification and abuse. Over fifty of the denizens of Listowel, Co Kerry were even shameless enough to queue up in the court house and publicly commiserate with her attacker on the day he was convicted of her rape. And like the rape victim back in the 1980s they attacked her home, breaking windows and destroying her garden in attempt to drive her from the area.
It’s obvious, in light of these rapes, their aftermaths and the atrocious paedophilic crimes told of in the Cloyne Report that the natives of this area are mentally sub-normal and have an animalistic attitude to forced sex and child sexual abuse.

So it's not surprising to find that they have half-witted and mentally retarded bastards like Elaine Looney teaching in one of their main collages. In fact, when you get to know these people like I have, you'd be surprised if you found any employee in the Cork College of Commerce that had a somewhat normal intellect.
